The Wyandotte Public Schools (WPS) Scholarship Foundation has a long standing tradition of offering scholarship opportunities to our Seniors. The Foundation was established in 1989 as a non-profit organization and has awarded over $1,679,000 in financial assistance to Roosevelt students since its beginning. The Foundation's goal is to encourage Roosevelt High School graduates to seek a better life through continuing education. This year, the Foundation is offering more than 80 scholarships totaling over $148,000! Scholarships can be used for trade/tech schools, community college or a 4-year college/university.

Applying for scholarships is easy. Simply follow these steps:

  1. Review the WPS Scholarship Foundation Prospectus documents. This will help determine for which scholarships you are eligible to apply.
  2. Compose a Personal Goal Summary essay (not to exceed one typed page, double spaced). Specific scholarships may require an additional essay. Please include your name at the top of the essay and title your essay, “Personal Goal Summary”. If you are writing an essay for a specific scholarship, make sure you title your essay with the name of the scholarship. You will upload your essay(s) to your application.
  3. Obtain two recommendation letters (high school instructor, coach, employer, etc.). Unless specified in the scholarship prospectus, the same two recommendations can be used for all scholarships. If you are asking a teacher for a recommendation, please give them as much notice as possible. I have provided staff with a form to use and they will submit it for you. Easy!
  4. Complete Scholarship Application using the link below. The window for applying usually begins in early February and ends in early March. If the application is unavailable check back closer to the application window timeframe.

If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Arminiak in the Roosevelt Principal’s Office.
